Cassie & Bryson {Miles City, MT Engagement Session}

by Whitney Bird

  I am so behind on editing...It makes me feel very anxious just thinking about it, but it's that time of year and I probably won't be fully caught up anytime soon, so I need to just roll with it.  Luckily my clients seem to have way more patience than I do...

  Anyways, I have been so excited to share a handful of these.  I have known Cassie since she was a little girl, and actually took her senior portraits.  This has happened to me a couple of times now, and although it makes me feel old, I am so grateful for repeat clients!

  Cassie and Bryson wanted to take their engagement portraits before they moved from Miles City and began their new journey in Walla Walla, Washington.  They liked the idea of having the photos done in the place that was their first home which is quite romantic.  These two are perfect together; playful and fun, but also tender and protective.  They make each other smile A LOT, and it made it very easy to photograph them.  I am already excited for their wedding next summer!!!

  Enjoy the sneak peek, and I hope you two are settling into your new home!

A Mother's Day Gift {Miles City, MT Family Photographer}

by Whitney Bird

  I have secretly been hoping Vicki would ask me to shoot her family probably since I first met her.  So when it came about sort of last minute, I knew I would make it work.  She told me it was what she wanted for Mother's Day; photos with her kids, and she made sure they knew that too.  You play the Mother's Day card, and kids will cooperate-genius.  We ended up spending a relaxed evening at their home, with perfect weather, and plenty of Spring color.

  It seems to be much more common for Mother's to make photos with their babies or smaller children a priority.  But the season of life when your kids are older is also a very special time. Your role has blossomed from that caretaker stage and into a more adult phase.   You wear the hat of not only mom, but also friend, confidant, supporter, etc.  You are at the point where you really see your hard work as a mother pay off as your children start to become the person you helped mold them into.  I have no doubts that these kids will go on to do big things because I know their mom, and how much love she poured into them.  They are lucky, and I judging by our time together, they know it.

Baby Wyatt {Miles City, MT Newborn Photographer}

by Whitney Bird

  This was a very special newborn shoot.  It all started a little over a year ago when I shot Wyatt's parents get married.  (I also did their engagement session)  Earlier this spring, I was the photographer for Wacy and Skye's maternity session.  Then I photographed baby Wyatt's birth which was a beautiful experience.  It is always so amazing to me how different every birth is, and what an incredible story every newborn begins his/her life with.  There is nothing quite like being present at the birth of a new little life.  The excitement and nerves, the fear and pain, the emotion and purest form of love can not be rivaled by any other life event.  Photographing parents meeting their child for the first time is beyond special, and Wyatt was greeted by two of the best.

  Shortly after Wyatt's birthday, I was lucky enough to have him and his parents in the studio for his newborn session.  He is a very handsome little thing, and his doting parents are clearly very smitten.
