Kennedy James-Miles City, Montana Newborn Photographer

This handsome little fella was my first studio client!  It was so nice to have so much space and light to work with in the studio.  One of my main reasons for wanting to open a studio was to better accommodate newborns, and this space will do it!  Kennedy was such a good baby which made it all the more fun.  Plus I loved getting to chat with Brandy about life as a new mom. Chatting with the moms is one of my favorite parts of shooting newborns because I love hearing all about the birth story, what the baby is like at home, if he sleeps, etc.  I seriously could talk about babies and weddings all day!  Anyways...enjoy Kennedy's sneak peek!  This guy looks soooo good in grey and his mom is stunning.  Motherhood looks beautiful on you Brandy!

Brand New Baby Mesa {Miles City, MT Newborn Photographer}

  Getting to be part of something this special is pretty amazing.  Capturing real, genuine emotion is what I love most about photography, and is ultimately why I love weddings.  This type of intimate shoot is similar in the sense that it is a once in a lifetime event, and that is why this type of photography really speaks to my soul.  

 Since Samm knew she would be having a c-section, we had the date and a rough time nailed down in advance.  I met her family at the hospital and waited for Samm, and the newest addition to the Varner family to come out of recovery. (they didn't know the gender of the baby)  From there, I spent the morning photographing Mesa's first time nursing, and her parents admiring the new life they created together.  I was there to capture Mesa meeting her big Brother as well as her grandparents.  I was also in on her first bath, and made sure to get a lot of photos of that amazing head of hair.  Those first few days are such a blur for parents, and I hope this collection of photos helps preserve those first memories made with their new daughter.

Baby Lincoln {Miles City, MT Newborn Photographer}

  I haven't shot a ton of newborns lately, and to be honest I question what my style should be when it comes to newborns.   When it came time to photograph my youngest son shortly after he was born, I found myself gravitating towards more lifestyle photos of him.  I loved the simple, clean, not posed shots of him.  I also love photographing all the love between a new baby and their parents and siblings.  When it comes to wedding photography my goal is to always capture the love, and I think that has become my main focus with newborns.

  That is why I was so thrilled when Tennell agreed to do this shoot at their home, primarily in Lincoln's nursery.  I feel like it makes the shoot so personal, and the nursery won't always be the nursery so it is nice to have some photos of that space as well.  Little Lincoln is such a handsome fella, and loved all the cuddles with his parents and sister!  We also were lucky enough to sneak outside for some more portraits, and I love how those turned out!  Such a sweet baby, and awesome little family!  

  It makes my heart so happy to photograph the new baby of one of my past wedding couples!  It is one of the best part of my jobs, seeing families grow, and capturing new memories for them.  Enjoy your sneak peek Jesse and Tennell!  Your new baby sure is something special!
